Community concern with emotional crises is stimulating the development of both practical measures, such as psychiatric emergency centers and suicide prevention centers, and theo- retical concepts of crisis. Experiences and results of the Suicide Prevention Center of Los Angeles in extension of its services around the clock are presented, especially in meeting problems of need for increased staff and resources for disposition of callers.
