This past Tuesday we attended Raising the Bar: Evaluation Collective Conference 2016, hosted by Propellus. This was a great conference where we learned much about how to improve our evaluation methods – which is especially important but also especially difficult in suicide prevention.

Currently, we evaluate the effectiveness of our suicide prevention workshops by evaluating participant confidence and skill levels before and after the workshop. We are hoping to expand our evaluation methods in the future, and conferences like this are just one way we keep current with evaluation best practices and new ideas. We also consistently seek new ways of evaluating our work as members of an Evaluation Community of Practice.
