    Welcome to CSV Midstream Solutions Corp. Buddy Up Training! We’ll all be taking training so we’re prepared to help a team member who may be struggling.

    1. Everyone takes Buddy Up (scroll down to access the webinar)
    2. Some people go on to become Connectors and take the safeTALK training (scroll down to learn more)
    3. Others go on to become Supporters and take ASIST training (scroll down to learn more)

    Buddy Up Training

    Buddy Up training is basic suicide prevention training to learn to reach out to someone you think is struggling.

    Step 1. Watch the training video

    Step 2. Submit the evaluation
    Submit this knowledge assessment to complete the training and share your feedback.

    Step 3. Receive your sticker
    Centre for Suicide Prevention will notify CSV Midstream Solutions Corp. and you will receive your sticker from Brock Lambert or Scott Balcom.

     


     

    safeTALK

    This 3.5 hour in-person workshop alerts one to warning signs indicating considering suicide.  The workshop emphasizes the importance of recognizing the signs, communicating with the person considering suicide and getting help or resources for the person considering suicide.

    Step 1. Express interest
    If you’re interested in attending safeTALK, send an email to [email protected].

    Step 2. Attend the workshop to receive your sticker
    Upon completion of the workshop, your Trainer will provide you with your sticker.

    Step 3. Complete the evaluation
    Check your email and submit an evaluation to receive your certificate.


     

    Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

    Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don’t need any formal training to attend the workshop—anyone 18 or older can learn and use the ASIST model.

    Step 1. Sign up for a workshop
    Register for an in-person two-day workshop hosted in communities throughout Alberta (fee payment required).

    Step 2. Attend the workshop
    Learn how to intervene with an individual who is thinking about suicide.

     Step 3. Complete the evaluation
    Check your email and fill out an evaluation to receive your certificate.

     Step 4. Receive your sticker
    Show your certificate to Brock Lambert or Scott Balcom and receive your sticker.
