Videos have been included on these lists with the permissions of the distributors.

SIEC Recommends
There may be viewers in your audience who have had a past or recent experience with the suicide or suicidal behaviours of a friend or family member or who may have attempted or thought about suicide themselves. Presenters should be prepared for potential reactions from viewers.

SIEC Recommends:

  1. Previewing all videos to determine their appropriateness for the intended audience.
  2. Allowing adequate time for discussion following a video presentation. Presenters should be aware of appropriate community resources to who viewers can be referred for further assistance if necessary. A selection of related printed materials that the audience can take away may also be desirable.

Can I Purchase These Videos From SIEC?
Only one video is available for purchase from SIEC - "Reach Out With Hope". All other titles must be purchased directly from the distributor. The website address of the distributor is provided for each video.

If You Want to Suggest a Video Title
If you know of a video on suicide prevention, intervention, or bereavement that might be appropriate for inclusion on one of these lists, please forward title and distributor information to SIEC.

The inclusion of a video on these lists is not meant in any way to imply endoresement by this agency of video, the producers, or the distributor. The lists are for information purposes only and offer no guarantee of the suitability of a title for the purchaser or for a given audience. It is recommended that all video resources be previewed prior to purchase or public presentation.
